Thatta Cement Company Limited was established in 1980 as a publicly traded company, initially operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of the State Cement Corporation of Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited. Commencing operations in 1982, the manufacturing facility was built upon dry process technology, boasting a total installed capacity of 1,000 tons per day of clinker. Notably, the plant’s equipment was sourced from M/s. Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan. In 2004, the Government of Pakistan relinquished its ownership stake in the company through the Privatization Commission.
